In collaboration with its associated athletic label F.C.R.B., Nike has outfitted its Solarsoft Waffle Cruiser in a special colourway. The silhouette, which is an updated, lightweight progression on Nike’s staple Waffle Racer, has been given two clean colourways in this new offering: Black/Volt and Navy/Sax. Specifically, the Black/Volt colour scheme references F.C.R.B.’s Spring/Summer 2013 range as a whole, as well as the F.C.R.B. branding at heel tabs on both. These two exclusive colourways will be available at all F.C.R.B. retailers on May 25, priced at ¥5,985 JPY (approximately $58 USD).

This metal kitchen/campfire/grilling tool lets you make six treats at a time by locking them into place in individual holders. With metal legs, it’s possible to use it not just over a fire, but in the oven, in a toaster oven, or even on the grill. . . .

Filled with slapstick humour and the usual Bronson charisma, the visuals to “Strictly 4 My Jeeps” shows the Queens-bred rapper cavort around in the parody of a rapper’s lifestyle. Shot in Queens, New York and directed by Jason Goldwatch, the clip shows Action Bronson lifting weights, doing cart wheels and getting down with voluminous women. Elsewhere, RiFF RaFF co-stars in the short before Bronson serves up a meat feast at a cook-out with his cohort. With production courtesy of Harry Fraud, the visuals play humorous juxtaposition to the otherwise rugged, boom-bap track. “Strictly 4 My Jeeps” will be featured on Saab Stories, his forthcoming album with Harry Fraud set to drop in early June. . . .

These underwater portraits of creatures who inhabit the sea are filled with such character and life. Hawaii-based photographer Joshua Lambus documents the amazing detail of many aquatic species, stating that he hopes to show people things they haven’t seen before or to entice people to see something familiar in a new way. In his collection entitled Blackwater, Lambus captures each luminous body as it glows brightly against a dark black background. The adventurous photographer does all of the work, diving deep into the sea to find these exciting and unusual creatures. Viewers are later invited to get to know each magnificent detail while remaining on dry land. Lambus says, “Now being underwater I’m inundated with stories, struggles, triumphs. Seeing our fragile ecosystem inch ever closer to the verge of destruction pushes me to continue my work, not only for artistic value, but for a far greater purpose. I hope to tell a story and ask for help for those without a voice.” [thinx & my modern met] . .

In his own words, Coltrane Curtis is “an entrepreneur, a husband and a dad,” but that seems to be modesty speaking. In actuality, Coltrane Curtis is a self-made man, a former influential VJ on MTV, and mastermind behind the idea engineering group Team Epiphany. Despite all these accomplishments though, Curtis doesn’t seem concerned with flossing his wealth. Instead, he maintains an apartment in TriBeCa with his son and wife, most of which holds rare, custom goods celebrating his family. Freunde von Freunden has an interesting feature on Curtis that takes viewers through his TriBeCa high-rise apartment, which explores the elements behind the creative genius. . . .

The Xbox One sees Microsoft add a Blu-ray drive and Skype functionality to its console, incorporate vibrating feedback into its gamepad’s triggers, and upgrade the Kinect camera’s sensor to 1080p high definition resolution. The new games engine, named Ignite, will allow the machine to carry out four times as many calculation a second as the Xbox 360 and 10 times more “animation depth and detail”, working alongside 8GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and USB 3.0 connectivity.
For the June/July 2013 issue of Esquire, Olivia Munn met up with David Curcurito for some “tea in a quiet corner of a hotel restaurant.” Things didn’t go quite as planned. Read an excerpt: “I grew up in a small farming town outside of Abadiania, in Brazil. Wait, no, she didn’t. She was actually born in Oklahoma and raised on a military base in Japan, and she moved around a lot. But sometimes you let the art flow over you, so I’m not about to interrupt. She goes on to say that she was born in a portal to Narnia, and her education was completely self-taught, and that her brother, who is Barack Obama, likes to draw and is really big into Call of Duty, so he’s playing that a lot.” For the complete article and additional photos head on over to esquire.com. . . .
